We do not simply harp about what we will do, but we action and honour our words. “We have already begun to, as the proverbial saying goes, put our money where our mouth is. We will listen to the people and work with all identifiable stakeholders across the sectors and sections of the communities. “Key decisions reached will be based on consensus, relevance and national interests. Mr Turaga said Government was committed to incorporating a consultative approach towards major decisions that would affect the people of Fiji. “We are confident that freedom of speech and freedom of association will inadvertently promote participatory and inclusive policymaking initiatives.” “The ‘Rule of Law’ and freedom of speech will be sincerely adhered to so that sustainable solutions can be developed to benefit society,” he said. ![]() This was highlighted by Attorney-General Siromi Turaga while delivering his ministerial statement in Parliament yesterday. Legislation that suppress basic human rights, media freedom, freedom of expression, freedom of association, individual and group rights will be at the forefront of the Coalition Government’s legislative program during the 2022-2023 Parliament session. ![]()
